Hi I'm Lisa,

Right now you probably can't even imagine what's possible when you understand your drinking lifestyle.

Back in the naughties, I was what I call A Sober Striver - my drinking lifestyle had met my ambition.

I didn't realise it at the time, but I was held back by alcohol's sneaky ways, in many areas of my life, keeping me stuck and unable to move forward.

I took lots of short breaks from drink, until one day I took a longer one, and everything in my life changed for the better.

In a society geared up for socialising with alcohol, many ambitious individuals have got sucked into an exhausting loop of working hard and drinking. They're not dependent on alcohol , but rather to them, it's an inconvenience, a bad habit.

With the right support, you can break through blocks holding you back (that you didn't even know you had), get unstuck and explore a new way of being. You can move forward in your life by setting the foundations you need to THRIVE, and go on to create the life and future you truly desire - for you and your loved ones.

Ambitious women are taking short breaks from alcohol to feel better, catch up on things, and get focused on what truly matters. They do this with the intention of taking back control of their life, their relationships and their work - in the hope they will thrive.

Instead they go back to the inconveniences of their drinking lifestyle, lose momentum on gaining back control, and consequently stay stuck.

Like myself back in the naughties, when my lifestyle met my ambition, I call these individuals, SOBER STRIVERS.

If you feel like the drinking culture is pulling you into a lifestyle that's obstructing your ambition, you're not alone - and it's futile to beat yourself up about it.

If you're serious about creating the life and work you keep dreaming about, then getting strategic about breaking the repetitive loop you're in could be a major game changer in your relationships, your life and your work. A long break from drink could be the BEST decision you'll ever make (it was for me, and SO MANY others!).

When you start to lay the strong foundations needed to build a calmer, more joyful way of being, and a more productive, easier way of life - amazing things will start to happen.

You shift into a new paradigm, where you have MUCH more control over your thoughts, your feelings, and your life and work. You become more empowered, and consequently encounter more possibilities. A potent environment where you can easily thrive.

Without strong foundations in place, there's a very good chance you'll continue to slide back into your old unwanted habits - continuously striving without ever thriving.

If the best time for a change was a year ago,

then the second best time is NOW.

I'd often say to myself, I'll take a longer break on Monday. And wouldn't. And that lasted for nearly a decade because I'd let others innocently influence me into drinking. Think about it, friends or family who don't have the same ambition as you, can easily persuade you to drink.

Trying on an alcohol-free lifestyle is tough to navigate when you see your loved ones or friends enjoying alcohol if you have a history of enjoyable drinking times with them. Because a drinking lifestyle is so deeply engrained into our society, there's a good chance your loved ones won't really understand why you want to take a break from drink if you're not alcohol dependent. Unlike you, they don't believe they're wasting their time, energy or focus on their drinking lifestyle because they're just not as ambitious as you.

If this rings true, and you want to take a longer break from drink, it will be more enjoyable and successful if it's handled with clarity, care and confidence. A strategic approach with support from someone who has both experience and knowledge, will fast track your personal progress, and you'll train yourself to enjoy being alcohol-free.

When you're alcohol free for a longer period, everything around you feels sharper and louder. And when you don't feel in control of your thoughts, your emotions, or your actions, taking a break from drink alone can be challenging. It can unintentionally harm our relationships, our opportunities and our mental health.

When we implement change into our life, our survival instincts kick in, and this can send us out of kilter, leaving us feeling easily irritated and vulnerable to saying things we later regret. I call this white knuckling it. And white knuckling it is what so often takes us back to our drinking lifestyle a lot sooner than we intend.

If you want to break the drinking lifestyle loop, and realise your ambition, it's up to you to make it happen. And it's up to you to take action. You're the one who's in the driving seat of your life.
